Manjaro Linux 16.06 Daniella Released

Manjaro Linux is based on Arch Linux and one of the easiest Linux distributions available. Manjaro Linux provides the distro in most major flavors including, XFCE, KDE, Gnome, LXDE, MATE, Cinnamon and more. The team has recently released its stable release Manjaro 16.06 with all the packages updated to their latest versions.

When I was new to Linux, I tried out different Linux distributions that are said to be hard to install and use. I also heard of Arch Linux which is globally known as the hardest to install Linux distributions for Linux newbies. I know you agree! Well, I failed in the first step of installing Arch. But I wanted to experience Arch Linux, then I found Manjaro Linux. I went ahead and install Manjaro Linux and I did not face any trouble. Withing a few minutes I had Manjaro installed and running.

This Arch base Linux distribution has a very familiar user interface. Manjaro Linux main flavor is XFCE, other than XFCE, the team also provides KDE, Gnome, LXDE, MATE, Cinnamon and more.

What’s New In Manjaro Linux 16.06?

There are few changes have been implemented in Manjaro Linux 16.06 –

  • Manjaro Linux comes with Kernel 4.4.
  • Its main flavor is XFCE and it has been updated to the latest XFCE version 4.12.
  • Plasma desktop has also been updated to Plasma 5.6 desktop with KDE-apps 16.04.
  • Manjaro Settings Manager (MSM) now has the graphical interface to install and remove Kernel.

Updated Applications

Other than the above changes, the release has also updated all the packages to their latest versions.
