- ownCloud Server 8 improves Federated Cloud sharing, allowing users to share files by directly referring to users on other ownCloud servers and introducing notifications and user interface improvements to the sharing process.
- Favorites support and much-improved search functionality, enabling users to have extremely quick and easy access to important files without having to navigate through all their data.
- Web interface enhancements – Accessibility and usability of the ownCloud interface has been improved to make it easier for all users to access, edit, sync and share their files.
- Admins are now able to edit the email address for system users, sort users, select multiple users at once, rename groups and more.
- Simplified App installation, upgrading, and removal

- Provisioning API.
- Apps can now specify their dependencies in info.xml
- the App container can now automatically resolve dependencies.
