The release has come out with some small and major tweaks that will surely make your Linux experience better. Especially for newbie, there used to be some confusions in understanding how to get menus will be far away. So let’s get started our tour and find out what’s new in Ubuntu 15.04.
Features Introduced In Ubuntu 15.04
Unity Tweaks Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet from the release of the codename is the talk of the town for a small but very helpful tweak ‘show menu always’. In Ubuntu 14.10 the tweak to show the menu on window you’re working on rather than on the top of screen. But now with that tweak, there is another tweak ‘always-show-menus’. Now you don’t have to hover over the window title bar to see file, edit, view, help, etc. menu but they are always there.
Systemd One of the major changes in Ubuntu 15.04 is that the default init system, upstart has been replaced with systemd. With that change, there is an improvement in boot speed. I felt the OS booted faster than before with upstart.
Although there is an option to boot system with upstart in GRUB and it is for in case any user faces trouble with systemd so he can select upstart to boot system.
